Boarding school life
School
A carefully selected boarding school will make the most of your child’s undoubted potential. This is because teachers are always available, take individual care of students and have a highly positive attitude to their profession. What is more, many boarding schools offer a wide range of educational support services. Our partner schools aim to achieve an above-average level of academic performance but they also offer a wealth of individual opportunities for those children with more practical talents. The shared experience of attending a boarding school enhances motivation and the will to achieve – and therefore increases chances of success, too. Life in a boarding school
In our partner schools, students are looked after by professional and dedicated educators and specially trained staff. Students make friends and feel at home within a short time. They still maintain a close bond with their family and friends at home of course – in fact this relationship deepens. At a boarding school, students do not only study academic subjects, they learn to get on with others and be considerate, they are given opportunities to take responsibility, practise tolerance and stick together when there is a challenge to be tackled. In this way, friendships are formed which may last
a lifetime!
Accommodation
Generally speaking, students at our partner schools are housed in rooms of two. Upper school students or those with special responsibility can often “earn” a single room. Students in the lower and middle classes are accommodated in rooms of three or four. Bathroom facilities at our partner schools are modern, hygienic, and respectful of the need for privacy.
back to top Sport
All boarding schools run intensive sports programs, some of them with their own special training centres. However, few parents will select a boarding school purely based on the child’s favourite sport. A wise choice will take equal account of sporting, academic and artistic interests.
back to top Homework
Homework is supervised and supported at all our partner schools. Homework supervision and personal support should be well matched to the individual child, so we pay particular attention to this point during consultation.
back to top Weekends
Weekends are organized very differently depending on the geographical location and philosophy of the boarding school. Virtually everything is possible ranging from “always free” to “almost always organised”. However, it is most common to find a combination of short weekends with Saturday classes and long weekends.
back to top Study groups and clubs
Study groups and clubs are a standard part of the program at our partner schools. Here, students learn to take on responsibility and demonstrate commitment at an early age, for example as a class representative or student council president.
